Most travel companies have loyalty programs that reward you for using their services.
Airlines reward you with Airlines miles and Hotel, Rent a Car and even Credit card companies reward you with points. These miles and points can be used to book free travel or deeply discounted travel. In order to earn these rewards you must signup for the loyalty account. I recommend that any travel service that you use that you signup, even if you think you won't be using that service again. I will give you example.
In January of this year I signed up for a loyalty program at the RIU Hotel website because I was going to a birthday party in Jamaica in March. One week before the trip we discovered that price had gone down. So I logged on the hotel website to cancel and rebook. When I discovered that I had some points in my account. I am not sure why because I had no previous stays at the hotel brand. During the rebooking process it appeared that I could use a portion of those points to get a discount on my room. So without using points the price was approximately $250 less, but by using points saved me $350. That was the easiest discount I have earned because I just had to create my loyalty account. Collecting miles/points will help you accelerate your travel goals.
